In order to keep the top of the ladder from continuing to slide forward (even with the body tape provided) I had to send a bolt through the top plate of the ladder through the top of the hatch. . Bajarack uses US-made, cold-rolled steel tubing as the basis for our best in class roof racks. We have intro pricing on the ladder until Sunday! Then my wife helped me set it up on the 4Runner easy peasy, several of the threaded holes had paint in them so it took a little longer than it should but still not a big deal. This worked fine, and I was able to ensure an exceptional seal on each bracket to the roof this way with clear silicone. This roof rack is good quality and easy to install. Solid construction, no vibration, and lightweight. Also, its aluminum so no rust issue and light enough that you dont need to upgrade your struts. Customer Service was excellent and prompt with a replacement part in just a few days. It just looks more durable and rugged while providing a better fit for my aesthetic.
