Blew out a sidewall about 1/2 a mile from St Elmo. I have been a trail leader several times for events such as All-4-Fun, ColoradoFest, Set Them Free, 14er Fest, and others. The trail was very wet and soggy at the start with a little bit of snow here and there on the trail till about 2 miles in. To the northeast you see Emma Burr Mountain. It was an extremely warm day around the Collegiate Peaks. Left goes over Cumberland Pass to Pitkin and Alpine Tunnel. Please refer to. I would say this trail is on the more difficult side of moderate. Snow is extremely deep and off camber before ever approaching the switchbacks. Only licensed vehicles can operate inside campground. The Taylor Park Trading Post and the small town of Tincup are your best bet for cabins in the upper park. Ran in 4 high and did not need 4 low or lockers. We didn't take the Old Tincup route, as time was running short. But it had melted enough that I was able to break a path through it with both of my lockers on. Great improvements to the trail on the Taylor Park side as you near the top. Parking is limited to the parking spurs provided with each campsite.
